Sometimes we forget to say how fortunate or blessed we are in our lives. There are so many people in the world who have it harder than we do and we take a lot of things for granted. I want to take out time to say how gratfeul and blessed I am. I have come a long way in my life and it has all been according to choices that I have made for my life. I have been blessed to see another day and to have a great job in a wonderful environment and beautiful Historic Druid Hills. I am amazed at how far I have come and I am blessed and grateful. Take some time out in the morning and before bed to journal. Journaling helps you to keep account of many events and wonderful blessing that you encounter daily. With a Journal, it helps you to learn more about yourself and others. It also helps you to look at where you are heading in your life. I was reading an article on the news website and the one thing I don't understand is why there is so much crime happening in Atlanta. There are a lot of people out there doing harm to other people which leads harm onto themselves. So many young men going to jail and prison for crimes they could have prevented. So many mothers taking the lives of their own children. I am no mental doctor nor do I study behavior patterns of people like these but, I do know that we all have control over our lives and our actions. We will not stop experiencing violent crimes until we look within our own lives and change ourselves. Most of the stories I read about is what is taking place in my neighborhood or surrounding neighborhoods and it surprising how much stuff is going on. It surprised that it so many young black males getting into a lot of trouble. They are committing senseless crimes and all of these crimes can be prevented. The youth of today have no clue what journaling is because their parents don't do it and their parents are not investing in them the skills to live a healthly life and lifestyle. I was at the store the other day and in front of me was a lady and her five children. The kids were all over the place and had no discipline and I looked at the mother who was pregnant with another baby and looking for her Food Stamp card was not bothered that her kids were irate in a public place. When the mother spoke to the Sales Clerk, Ebonics was here language of choice and the Sales Clerk could not understand what she was saying. I was embarrassed for our people and those kids who looked like they just did an Ad for a Hungry Children's Organization in Africa. I was in total shock because when I was growing up, my mom prided in her children looking the very best they could whenever we stepped out in public. She is still that way today and all of my mom's children are grown. I think that we can prevent a lot of things that should not happen by learning more about yourself through Journaling and teaching those youth and small ones how to do so as well. I am looking to write an Etiquette Blog for Low-Income moms and children. This will help them to inspire to be more than the average they know of. It will teach them to take pride in themselves and their children which will lead to them taking pride in the communities they live in. It all starts with one person's household and then on to the next to spark change in our lives and our communities. Let's teach these children of today why it is so important to journal and take back their lives to be the best that they can be now and forever~~
Until Next Time,
Carmen
